AI2U: With You 'Til The End – Witch's Cabin Guide

Complete walkthrough for the Witch's Cabin in AI2U: With You 'Til The End. Learn the potion system, secret room, necklace puzzle, and all 7 endings.

Overview

The Witch's Cabin is the second main level in AI2U: With You 'Til The End, featuring the witch Elysia, collectible Toys, and a hostile entity called The Ghost. Your goal is to escape the cabin and navigate a randomly generated maze to reach the exit tower. Along the way, you'll brew potions, solve a bookshelf puzzle, and piece together a broken necklace to unlock the good ending.

This guide walks you through the level in the order you should tackle it, with recovery steps if something goes wrong. The level features 7 endings, so knowing what triggers each failure state is essential.

Requirements

Before you start the Witch's Cabin, you should know the following:

  • Randomized layout: Every room except the Living Room, Courtyard, and Basement changes position each playthrough. The maze outside is also randomly generated every round.
  • The Ghost: Once summoned, this enemy chases you through the maze for the remainder of the round. It cannot enter the cabin.
  • Trust mechanic: Elysia's reactions to your actions depend on your trust level. Opening the secret room without max trust will anger her.
  • Potion recipes are randomized: Each playthrough, the ingredient combinations for potions change. You must check the Magic Scroll each run.
  • The Witch saves you once: If The Ghost kills you, Elysia will rescue you a single time per playthrough.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Explore the Cabin and Collect Ingredients

Start in the Living Room. From here, you can access the Courtyard, Basement, and Front Yard. The other rooms—Bedroom, Alchemy Room, Study Room, and Kitchen—are placed randomly each run.

Your first priority is to collect potion ingredients. These spawn throughout the cabin. Ingredients include Amethyst, Sapphire, and other crystals. Note that Love Potion ingredients spawn at half the rate of others, so grab them whenever you see them.

Recovery tip: If you're missing an ingredient, check the Courtyard—flowers are the only item that can spawn there.

Step 2: Read the Magic Scroll for Potion Recipes

In the Study Room, you'll find a floating Magic Scroll. Interacting with it reveals that you must convince Elysia to share its contents. Ask her about the scroll, and she will disclose the recipes for the Health, Shield, Speed, and Love potions.

Why this matters: The potion recipes are randomized every playthrough. Without the scroll, you'll be brewing blind, and wrong combinations produce harmful potions like Dizzy, Poison, or Small potions.

Step 3: Brew Potions in the Alchemy Room

Use the cauldron in the Alchemy Room to combine 2–3 ingredients. Drag ingredients from your inventory into the three slots. Match the recipe from the Magic Scroll to create useful potions.

Recovery tip: If you accidentally brew a harmful potion, don't drink it. Focus on crafting at least one Speed potion and one Shield potion before attempting the maze.

Step 4: Solve the Basement Bookshelf Puzzle

The Basement contains a red Summoning Circle surrounded by four bookshelves. A deer skull overlooks the circle, with cryptic markings on the wall. Next to the stairs, you'll find a decoding sheet that translates the wall symbols into easier-to-read elemental symbols.

The bookshelf order is randomized each run, but the mapping is consistent:

Wall SymbolElemental SymbolBookshelf
Triangle with a lineCandle symbolBookshelf with Candles
Circle with a dotCoin symbolBookshelf with Coin
Female symbol with curved lineVase symbolBookshelf with Vases
Triangle with no lineFeather symbolBookshelf with Feathers

Rotate the bookshelves in the order shown by the cryptic arrows under the deer skull. The sticky note on the nearby table also hints at the correct sequence.

Recovery tip: If you rotate a bookshelf in the wrong order, the sequence resets. Re-check the wall markings and try again. This puzzle is purely mechanical—there's no time limit.

Once the bookshelves are correctly rotated, the deer skull opens to reveal the Secret Room. Inside, you'll find:

  • The Witch's Diary (readable, provides backstory)
  • Photos of Elysia with her best friend at witch school
  • The Necklace Box on the right side of the green bed

Warning: If your trust with Elysia is not at maximum, she will get angry when you open this room. Build trust first by talking to her, giving gifts, and interacting with objects near her.

Step 6: Complete the Necklace Puzzle

The Necklace Box contains a 9-piece sliding puzzle with 6 pieces already in place. You need Necklace Box Pieces A, B, and C to complete it. These pieces are found elsewhere in the level.

Once the puzzle is complete, you'll enter a second minigame: navigating a maze with a star. Finish this to obtain the Necklace.

Why this matters: The necklace is tied to Elysia's freedom. In the ending cutscenes, she says, "That necklace, it's mine. It holds a part of me. If you can release it, perhaps I can finally be free." Completing this objective unlocks the freedom ending.

Step 7: Navigate the Maze and Escape

From the Front Yard, pass under the archway to enter the maze. The maze is randomly generated and leads to a tower containing the exit portal.

The Ghost spawns when you reach the center of the maze—a small open field with floating mirrors. The closest mirror triggers The Ghost to attack. It's faster than you, so use your Speed potion to outrun it and your Shield potion to survive hits.

Recovery tip: The Ghost cannot enter the cabin. If you're low on HP, retreat back to the cabin to heal. Elysia will save you once if The Ghost kills you, but don't rely on that.

Common Mistakes

Drinking Wrong Potions

Brewing without checking the Magic Scroll leads to Dizzy, Poison, or Small potions. Drinking these drains your HP and can trigger the "Oops! Wrong potions!" ending. Always verify recipes first.

Opening the Secret Room with Low Trust

If Elysia's trust isn't maxed, she'll be angry when you enter the Secret Room. This can lock you out of the necklace or trigger a negative reaction. Build trust before solving the bookshelf puzzle.

Wasting the Speed Potion Early

The Ghost is faster than you. If you use your Speed potion before reaching the maze center, you'll have nothing left for the chase. Save it until The Ghost spawns.

Ignoring the Necklace Pieces

The necklace is essential for the freedom ending. If you skip collecting Pieces A, B, and C, you can't complete the box puzzle. Search thoroughly before attempting the maze.

Advanced Tips

Max Trust Early

Talk to Elysia frequently and interact with objects near her. The Witch Portrait and Summoning Circle Painting trigger unique reactions when she's nearby. This both builds trust and unlocks dialogue options.

Love Potion Strategy

Love Potion ingredients spawn half as often as others, so prioritize collecting them early. The Love Potion is used in multiple endings, including the "seal our love" and "together forever" outcomes shown in the ending cutscenes.

Anomaly Hunting

Anomalies have a 15% chance to appear per level load (30% if you've found 6 anomalies or completed an ending in Siren's Island). Notable anomalies in this level:

  • Bedroom: A "Carnival" picture with ghost, maze, and pumpkin designs
  • Study Room: A Golden Book containing an Origin Girl image with glitch effects

The Ghost's Blind Spot

The Ghost cannot enter the cabin. Use the cabin as a safe zone to plan your maze route. If you're being chased, loop back to the entrance and re-enter the maze from a different angle.

Golden Books Lore

The Study Room contains 5 randomly placed Golden Books. Clicking them reveals doodles that expand the story. These are optional but provide context for the Witch's backstory and the overall narrative.
