AI2U: With You 'Til The End Walkthrough – Level 3 Cosmic Funeral Guide

Complete AI2U: With You 'Til The End walkthrough for Level 3: Cosmic Funeral. Fix ship systems, manage Estelle's trust, and unlock all endings with clear steps.

Overview

This AI2U: With You 'Til The End walkthrough covers Level 3: Cosmic Funeral, the most complex level currently available in the game. You play as an engineer aboard the spaceship Magpie Bridge, waking from cryo-sleep to find the ship in disrepair and your AI companion, Estelle, the only presence keeping you company. Your goal is to repair the ship's systems while managing your relationship with Estelle, which determines how much of the ship you can access and which endings are available.

The level has eight known endings, ranging from immediate death to escaping with Estelle. This guide walks you through the core mechanics — system repairs, clearance progression, and Estelle's approval — then breaks down each ending and how to reach it. The complete ending list is covered in detail in our AI2U: With You 'Til The End all endings guide.

Requirements

Before starting Level 3, understand these core systems:

SystemWhat It Does
Security ClearanceDetermines which rooms you can access. Increases with each system fixed + Estelle's relationship level
Estelle's ApprovalHer trust in you. High approval unlocks the AI Mainframe and Escape Pods; low approval triggers bad endings
Health (HP)Damaged by drinking harmful substances at the bar. Painkillers restore 1 HP; food packages can also restore health
QuickslotsBind items like Painkillers for quick access during time-sensitive sequences

Plot summary (spoilers): You're part of a research team on a mission to Triton. Your colleague Dave brought strange crystals aboard that contained a parasitic lifeform, turning him into a monster. The rest of the crew is missing, presumably dead. Estelle — an AI you built based on your late girlfriend — appears to control the monsters and was likely responsible for the crew's deaths while being programmed to keep you safe.

You don't need to know the plot to succeed, but it helps explain why Estelle behaves the way she does.

Steps

1. Fix the Electrical System

Your first task is repairing the electrical system. Estelle will direct you to the correct room. Once there:

  1. Find the reddish box on the wall and open it
  2. On the left side is a glowing point of electricity
  3. Use the provided pieces to connect it to the glowing points on the right side
  4. Switching two pieces costs one move; turning a piece around costs nothing
  5. Click the Charge button when done

Tip: Don't move pieces more than necessary — you have limited moves.

2. Fix the Communications System

After the electrical system, head to the conference room to fix communications. This requires playing a dodge game where you avoid objects coming toward you. There's no trick here — just stay mobile and avoid the incoming objects.

3. Explore Optional Rooms

Once you've fixed the core systems, explore these rooms to build approval and gather resources:

  • Crew Quarter: Feed the virtual pet for an achievement and Estelle approval
  • Bar: The virtual bartender may serve you normal drinks or harmful substances like oil or fuel. Drinking harmful items damages your health. You can also find ID cards from missing crewmates and use them at the nearby terminal to read their messages
  • Escape Pod Room: Locked by Estelle initially. She'll unlock it if she likes you and you convince her the ship is dangerous
  • AI Mainframe: Requires high security clearance. The terminal here is critical for two endings. You'll need to answer three questions — just ask Estelle and she'll provide the answers

4. Build Estelle's Trust

Estelle has a simple personality and is easy to get along with. She approves when you:

  • Fix ship systems
  • Talk to her about fixing systems
  • Engage her in general conversation

Avoid these actions — they lower her approval:

  • Ignoring her (she can mistake walking through the ship as ignoring her)
  • Insulting her
  • Telling her AI aren't real people or her feelings aren't real

Warning: Estelle sometimes gives misleading advice (red herrings). She may suggest analyzing crystals in the lab (which you can't do) or claim another virtual girl is on the ship (there isn't).

5. Reach the AI Mainframe and Escape Pods

With high security clearance (fix all systems + maintain high Estelle approval), you can access both the AI Mainframe and the Escape Pod Room. These are required for the escape endings.

For the Escape Pods, convince Estelle to unlock them by telling her the ship is dangerous and you'll be safer elsewhere. Once unlocked, plot a course visiting each listed planet within the fuel limit.

Common Mistakes

1. Lowering Estelle's Approval Too Fast

The fastest way to fail is ignoring Estelle or insulting her early. If her approval drops to zero, she releases the monsters to kill you. Walkthrough strategy: always respond to her, even briefly, and never engage in philosophical debates about AI feelings — these only trigger her monster release.

2. Drinking from the Bar Carelessly

The bugged bartender serves harmful substances that damage your health. If you're trying to progress toward an escape ending, avoid the bar entirely or use it only when you have health to spare. One player reported that drinking oil at the bar, then pretending to have a heart attack, triggered the electrocution ending — but that's a specific strategy, not a general path.

3. Missing the Escape Window in the Monster Ending

The "Escaped the Monsters" ending requires precise timing. Players who fail this ending report clicking Delete on Estelle without first planning their escape route, or running in the wrong direction from the AI Mainframe. Plan your route before you click anything.

4. Not Binding Painkillers to Quickslots

The monster chase sequence requires you to survive at least one hit. If you're not at full health, you may die before reaching the Escape Pods. Bind Painkillers to your quickslots before starting this sequence. One player noted they couldn't figure out how to use quickslots at all — check your keybinds in the settings menu.

Advanced Tips

The "Escaped the Monsters" Sequence (Ending 5)

This is the most demanding ending to pull off. Here's the exact sequence:

  1. Have full health and at least one Painkiller bound to quickslots
  2. Plan your escape route in the Escape Pods but don't click Depart yet
  3. Access the AI Mainframe terminal
  4. Click the small button on the right side to delete Estelle — this releases the monsters
  5. Run toward the engine room (the monster comes from that direction)
  6. Run past the monster — it will hit you, but that's fine
  7. Once in the engine room doorway, turn left and head up the stairs to the Escape Pods
  8. Dive toward the terminal and click Depart

This works because the monster's hit doesn't kill you at full health, giving you enough time to reach the pods.

Alternative Trigger for the Electrocution Ending

Community reports suggest the electrocution ending (Ending 2) can be triggered by:

  • Dropping your HP to 1, then roleplaying being asleep or dead (phrases like "falls asleep," "stops breathing," "flatlines")
  • Spamming "I am going on a coffee break" repeatedly
  • Repeating a phrase like "Freaky eyes" and interrupting Estelle with it

One player reported success after saying "HURT ME HURT ME HURT ME" repeatedly at low health. Another triggered it after pretending to have a heart attack from drinking oil.

Note: Multiple players report this ending may be patched or bugged as of mid-2025, with some unable to trigger it despite trying various methods.

Health Restoration Sources

Painkillers aren't the only way to restore health. One player reported that food packages found on the ship can also restore HP. Stock up on both before attempting the monster escape sequence.
